Vintage Cellulose Acetate and Black Ebonite Fountain Pen with Chrome Components

This style of fountain pen was designed with the discriminating pen collector in mind. It features classic styling, high quality components, and a durable, yet beautiful plating. Elegant and balanced for a gratifying writing experience, this fountain pen exhibits a chrome finish that wonderfully complements the pen body.

This pen features a black and gray body made of vintage cellulose acetate from le mans, france. Manufactured in the 1930s-1940s from cotton fibers, this organic plastic material was originally intended for use on some of the most sought-after pens of the era i. The feel of this material is not like any modern plastic made from petroleum products as it provides a soft, warm feel in the hand.

The black cap is made of japanese ebonite. Equipped with a high quality german manufactured #6 jowo nib and comes with one standard universal fountain pen cartridge that is easily replaceable and readily available at office supply stores, as well as a schmidt piston ink converter so that you are able to use your choice of bottled ink. Width at widest point 13.1mm. Cap width at widest point (excluding clip) 15.3mm. Every one of my pens is handmade by me in my shop in north carolina using high quality components with close attention to detail.

Each piece is crafted with precision that ensures a truly one of a kind, exceptional final product. Preparing each pen that i make includes cutting, drilling and epoxying the body of the pen, turning to a final shape on the lathe, sanding numerous times to achieve a smooth surface, and then polished to a lustrous shine with a durable finish before final assembly. Due to the quality of the products as well as the additional time, care and my attempts to perfection that i use in crafting my pens, you can be assured that each of my pens are crafted to be as flawless as possible and that each one goes through my personal but rigorous quality review before being made available. The pen pictured is the actual pen you will receive and includes a small box and velvet drawstring pouch ready for gifting.
