Vintage BLACKBIRD BB2 45 Green Marbled Pearl Celluloid Mabie Todd Fountain pen.
Beautiful vintage "blackbird" bb2/45 in a green marbled pearl celluloid finish with gold trim. Lever-filling fountain pen 14ct "flexible" nib. Todd & co ltd, england c 1930, s. A lovely high quality, vintage "blackbird" self-filling, fountain pen. Ltd, england around the mid 1930's. In beautiful green celluloid with gold plated trim. Fully serviced the condition is overall "excellent". The cap is in "excellent" condition. It has the clear imprint "blackbird" around it's top. The gold plated "ball-end" clip has the "trade mark" logo imprint of a blackbird in flight at its top. There is a little wear showing to the plating but it shines up very well. The cap has no cracks or breaks. It screws on and posts nice and securely on to the barrel. The "medium fine" tipped flexible 14ct nib is in excellent condition. The tines are well aligned and it writes really well. Medium gold nib it is marked.
The feed is in very excellent condition. It has the clear imprint.
The hard rubber section is also in excellent condition. It again, has the crisp imprint. The barrel is in excellent condition. The imprint is again "excellent" and clearly reads. At the base, there is the clear number imprint. This "blackbird" self-filling fountain pen has seen very little use and has a good quality feel to it. In "excellent" condition for its age. Just as one expects from the great mabie.Ideal as an everyday useable pen or as a great addition to a collection. The pen has been fully-serviced, re-sac'd and finally, given a light polish. Pen size - 125mm capped. This item is made of gold trim.
