Stabilized Karelian Birch fountain pen

Karelian birch is a very interesting wood growing in the region between finland and russia. It has a very characteristic grain and is harder than regular birch. This pen however was made of dye-stabilized karelian birch, which means it's much less prone to size changes due to atmospheric changes and is very hard as opposed to unstabilized wood.

It was dyed in purple and black color. The pen itself is a flush cap pen, which means the diameter of the body and cap are the same, and stand at 15.2mm while the ends of the pen are slightly tapered. Inner parts are sleeved with japanese nikko ebonite for protection against drying out.

The section of the pen was also made out of nikko ebonite and houses a jowo #6 nib of your choice. With pen you receive a schmidt k5 converter, but it also accepts standard ink cartridges. The finish on this pen is ca glue in high gloss and it is the most durable finish you can get nowadays. Finish: ca - high gloss. Nib: jowo 6 steel (other available variants by request).

Closed pen length: 140 mm. Section length: 23.7 mm. Section diameter: 10.4 mm (at grip point). Cap diameter: 15.2 mm.

Barrel diameter: 15.2 mm. Custom orders available by request.

Other nib variants by request. The nib you can see in photos is not the actual nib you get.
