RESERVED for R 1930s Waterman's Ideal Gold Filled 0552 1 2 V Fountain Pen with Ring Top Not Presently Working
1930s era waterman's ideal gold filled lever-fill fountain pen, with ring top cap. Nib is stamped'waterman's ideal canada'. Barrel end stamped'0552 1/2 v,' fill lever marked'ideal,' and'waterman's' is engraved on the rim of the cap. 05 stands for gold filled overlay, 5 for lever filler, 2 for nib size, and 1/2 indicates that this pen is the slender model. V is for pocket sized. 3 3/4 inches long when closed, 5 inches when open and cap placed on end. The pen is not in working condition - the lever raises to a point but then there is a grinding/crunching noise. The bladder has dried up and is in the process of disintegrating.
Cap and pen body proper have small dents. Still, this is a beautiful item, and with proper work by a skilled restorer can be enhanced dramatically. This item is made of metal and plastic.
