Handmade Tycoon Great Dismal Swamp Southern Yellow Pine Fountain Pen with 24Kt Gold Plating

The pen is handmade from great dismal swamp southern yellow pine. The pen blanks are cut, dried, stabilized and dyed gold to limit cracking and checking. The wood used in this pen is made from recovered logs that are centuries old. In 1763 george washington founded the dismal swamp company in order to drain the swamp and harvest the lumber. Instead, he just harvested the lumber and some of thousands of logs that were floated down the swamp never made it to the mills.

These logs are the ones being harvested today. These logs been preserved underwater in the great dismal swamp located between southeastern virginia and northeastern north carolina. The logs were recovered with permission from the us national park service and were harvested in an ecofriendly manner.

The pen hardware is 24kt gold plated. The tycoon is simply a great looking pen.

The pen features ultra smooth and durable threading, a regal design and striking facets on the fountainnib. The 24kt gold plating offers a bright pure gold plating that gives the pen a rich and luxurious look. The 24kt gold plating uses a premium process and is covered with an epoxy coating for an extremely durable surface. The pen is approximately 5 1/8" long capped and 6 1/8" long posted. The tycoon includes a iridium tipped nib and includes both a siphon pump and blue ink cartridge.
