Fountain pens are often referred to as quill pens, old fashioned pens, or dip pens, but this is not accurate. Dip pens require dipping in an ink well, while fountain pens have a means of storing ink inside the pen (ink cartridge, or converter in my case). Quill pens are made from large feathers, and work in a similar fashion, but are definitely not the same as a fountain pen.
The only one of these terms which could possibly fit, is the old fashioned pen. While fountain pens have been around for a long time, they have made significant improvements. When you use a custom made writing instrument, it conveys a message. Much like jewelry, watches, or eyeglasses, custom pens allow you express yourself with style and class. If someone hands you a $.50 pen to use, for whatever the occasion, it is forgettable. If someone hands you a custom writing instrument like this, it is a memorable occasion. What image, of yourself, do you want to convey. This item is made of fountain nib and ink cartridge, ink converter, chrome, stone.
