This is a hand-turned wooden pen made with a piece of maple burl that has been dyed black. Its parts are high-quality and it will last a lifetime (and could even be passed down to the next generation). Nib is revealed by unscrewing the cap; cap can then be posted onto the end of the pen. Pen has a heavy, balanced feel in the hand.
Smooth, generous ink flow makes writing a pleasure. Wood was turned on my lathe and wet-sanded to 12000 grit, then treated with oil and renaissance wax for a natural finish that protects the wood while still allowing the user to feel the grain under their fingers. Makes a wonderful gift for journalers, calligraphers, teachers, students, bosses, or as a stocking stuffer. All pens made by me, in my home woodshop. This item is made of maple burl and wood, antique silver.
