1920's watermans red ripple ideal 52v fountain pen ring top. Pen is working/tested inked up several times.
Pen in my opinion is very good. There are no cracks to the cap or barrel. Very good coloring and design. There is micro scratching that you can see with a loupe. Main imprint is strong, lower one on the end of barrel is good. The 52v mark is very light, need a loupe. There is some brassing to the lever and ring top. Ink sac is of a medium firm type.
The nib is waterman's ideal #2. Has not been polished, has some light toning to it. All that has been done is lushed and inked.
Did a few load ups with this and works good. First time was a little sluggish to start off, then it flowed. Regarding this one the nib/feed/section has not been taken apart. You might want to adjust the nib and feed to your liking. I did not replace the ink sac, saw no need too.Capped: 4 3/8 (not including ring). Posted: 5 5/8 (not including ring). Don't be afraid, i list what i see so there are no surprises. Pictures are part of description. If you need more pictures let me know.
Absolutely no expert on pens just a thing. Keep some for myself of course. Being old some parts of the pens might have been replaced by others, so please view pictures if you need more pictures please ask. All pens listed have been used unless noted. Most get cleaned up to a point unless specified. Feel free to ask about prices, bundles etc. The worst that i could say is no. All vintage and antique items that are listed have been previously used, so please expect there to be some imperfections. There may be imperfections discoloring, age cracks, rust, chips, etc.We look over all the items and describe what we see and notice but do not expect the items to be new or in mint condition. With that pictures are part of descriptions, do not hesitate to ask questions or request more pictures.
That's about it, feel free with questions. Another site to check out, great shop on etsy.
