Päua abalone is a shell from mollusks only found in new zealand. To create this majestic pen strips of abalone were sliced into straight segments and meticulously applied by hand around a metal tube and then cast in crystal acrylic resin to protect and capture all the varying brilliance of this extraordinary piece of nature. The pen is beautifully accented with antique brass fittings that look great against the spectacular variation of pinks, greens, teals and browns of the body. Photos were taking under sunlight but still don't do this fine writing instrument justice. Features a sleek and elegant design that has great balance and weight offering a superior writing experience.

Comes equipped with a german-made gold jowo #6 medium tipped nib, plus a universal blue ink cartridge and a premium ink reservoir pump that you can fill with the ink of your choice. This beautiful writing instrument does have the ability to post the cap on the back of the pen while in use. A truly one-of-the-kind fountain pen that will make a memorable gift for any occasion, such as a birthday, graduation, anniversary, father's day, mother's day, christmas, retirement, secretaries day or for those important documents you are about to sign. Each piece is unique and no two pieces will be exactly like but i always try my best to keep the designs as consistent as possible. The pen includes a free luxurious black box making it perfect for a gift. This pen is also available with chrome fittings. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Every one of my pen is handmade. I don't use templates so each one is unique.

My process includes casting, cutting, turning and sanding (a lot) the pieces one at a time. All the pens are made by me in my studio in california. This item is made of päua abalone and abalone shell, antique brass.
